quick fixes

I pushed  2 updates that bring a ton of quality of life improvements to desktop and XR modes. i also fixed the export button so it will generate a download while running in the browser. the ui interactions every are much more consistent and sensible. the code has some internal changes that make it more flexible for future modularity.
